An Efficient Calculation Method for the Determination of Force and Moment Coefficients on a Body with Boundary Layer Separation under Various Onset Flow Conditions

The presented method is to be used for the efficient calculation of incompressible viscous flow around airship-like body shapes under various onset flow conditions. The displacement effect of the developing boundary layer is taken into consideration as well as the influence of boundary layer separation on the flow around the body. Comparisons with experiments demonstrate that this method allows the calculation of the flow around bodies with a degree of accuracy sufficient for applications in engineering requiring little computation time.
